What it does

This automation watches a checkbox column. When a box is ticked (TRUE), it moves the whole row to another sheet — perfect for archiving completed tasks, processed orders, or done items. Your main sheet stays focused on what’s still open.

How to set it up

  1. Install Sheet Automation from the Google Workspace Marketplace and open it from your sheet.
  2. Add a checkbox column (Insert → Checkbox) and a destination sheet, e.g. Sheet2.
  3. Pick the “Move row when a checkbox is ticked” template, set the checkbox column and the destination sheet.
  4. Save, then tick a checkbox to test — the row moves to the other sheet.

FAQ

Is it free?
Yes — this automation works on the free plan. Paid plans add more monthly runs and advanced actions.
Where does the row go?
To the destination sheet you choose in the template (e.g. Sheet2). The row is removed from the source sheet.
Will unticking move it back?
No. The rule runs when the box is ticked (TRUE); it doesn’t move rows back when unticked.
Can I move rows on a different condition?
Yes. Swap the condition — e.g. status equals “Done” — instead of a checkbox.
Do I need Zapier or Make?
No. Sheet Automation runs inside Google Sheets, so there’s no third-party connector to pay for or maintain.
