Share a single sheet, not the whole spreadsheet

Share individual tabs with your team without exposing the rest of your data. Edits sync both ways in real time.

Pick one tab. Share it. Edits flow both ways automatically.

Why not just use the alternatives?

Google Sheets has a few ways to share data — none of them actually solve the single-tab problem.

Native Google Sheets sharing

The problem: sharing is all-or-nothing at the spreadsheet level. Anyone you invite sees every tab — including the ones you wanted to keep private.

Hiding tabs doesn't help — they're one right-click away from being unhidden.

Protected ranges & sheets

The problem: protection only blocks editing — viewers still see the full contents of every protected tab, including formulas and data.

Useful for preventing accidents. Useless for confidentiality.

IMPORTRANGE formula

The problem: one-way only. Data flows from source to destination, but edits made on the shared copy never come back. Formatting, formulas, and validation don't carry over either.

Fine for read-only dashboards. Broken for collaboration.

Publish to web

The problem: creates a public, read-only page anyone with the link can see. No edit access for collaborators, no privacy controls, and the data is exposed to the open internet.

Designed for publishing, not collaborating.

Share Single Sheet — the only option that does all four

True isolation — recipients see only the tab you shared, not the rest of the workbook.
Two-way sync — edits flow in both directions automatically, no formulas to maintain.
Format & validation preserved — colors, conditional rules, and dropdowns stay intact on both sides.
Native Google Sheets — no new tool to learn. Recipients open the link and edit as usual.

Use cases

Common scenarios where sharing a single sheet keeps your data safe.

Team task assignments

Give each team member their own tab from a master tracker without revealing other people's tasks or workloads.

Client-facing reports

Share a single client's data tab with them while keeping every other client's records private in the same workbook.

Budget & expense tracking

Let department heads update their own budget tab without seeing other departments' financial details.

Vendor & supplier collaboration

Share an inventory or order tab with a single vendor while keeping pricing and terms with other suppliers confidential.

Classroom & student grades

Share a student's grade tab with their parents while keeping the rest of the class roster private.

Sensitive HR data

Share onboarding or training info with new hires without exposing the full employee directory or salary information.

Frequently asked questions

Does the recipient need a Google account?

Yes. Because the shared sheet is a real Google Sheets document, recipients need a Google account to open and edit it — the same as any standard Google Sheets share.

Can recipients edit or download the data?

Yes — you choose the access level when sharing, just like a regular Google Sheets share. Grant edit access for two-way collaboration, or view-only if you'd rather keep it read-only. Edit-access recipients can also download or copy the shared sheet as they would any Google Sheet.

How do I increase the quota?

You can upgrade to a paid plan. Alternatively, leave a review on Google Marketplace and we'll happily double your quota.

How do I purchase a subscription?

Click the Upgrade button and enter the email address you use with Google Sheets along with your payment details. Once payment completes, re-launch the add-on and you'll be upgraded.
